Darfur

“Sudan president promises to help Darfur” (read the CNN article)
…Note to Bashir: how about start by burying the more than two million emaciated bodies you starved and slaughtered and rebuilding the homes you burnt down…
I tend to get pretty hot on this topic. Needless to say, I am not holding my breath to see al-Bashir providing relief to people he has been systematically exterminating. So I won't jump on my soap box now, but, if you can stand to, let some of the kids from Darfur (in Sudan) show you what's been going on (for the last 21 years...)

Many of these dipict the violence, rape and slaughter carried out by the Janjaweed malitia. The assault aircraft are government-owned and have operated in deadly simultaneous attacks with the Janjaweed on the ground. These young kids were not told what to draw, just given notebooks and crayons. These may be the best, and most horrifying eyewitness accounts we'll ever see.

"abducted for rape, no chance to call for help"

I found these and other drawings via an NPR report. You can see and read more on the Human Rights Watch site. Also, the above CNN link page contains an interactive link that walks through a very brief history of the Sudan conflict.
