Agnes and Vuyiseka (last July?)
We got a call today from Mama Lulu in Philippi with a horrible yet amazing report... Dennis wrote the following this afternoon: Please pray for Agnes and the orphans she cares for today. We just learned that on Tuesday, Agnes and her kids went over to salvage things from her son's (who is in prison and has been for years) shack which burned down in a Philippi fire. While they were there, Thobella (one of her boys, age 10) and Vuyaseka (her youngest orphan, age 2) were out front playing. A woman came along and grabbed Vuyaseka and took off down the street with her. Thobella ran in and got Agnes and the others and they chased the woman and caught her. She was arrested, but now Agnes and the kids are struggling with the inner turmoil of such an event. There have been many kidnappings in the Cape Flats this year that have ended in child rape and often death, so everyone naturally imagines the worst. Agnes is now having problems with her ulcers and everyone is shaken. Please pray for peace to fall over their home, give thanks for God's protection and pray for more.
