Philippi Crime Update

We just received this email from Dennis, our director in SA, this morning:
The crime in Philippi continued last week with Athi and Bafana Majija’s brother, Xolisa, being brutally murdered at a party. [Bafana is a good friend of BHI's and involved with St. Paul's Church in Philippi] Xolisa was kicked and beaten to death by people that are known in the community. One of the sad realities here is that fear of retribution keeps people from reporting crimes. It is common knowledge that if you report a crime, you will not be alive to serve as a witness at the trial. This kind of fear paralyzes the justice system and allows the criminals the freedom to run rampant with their reign of terror. Please pray that God’s Spirit will lead the Body of Christ in Philippi to a Biblical response to this crushing fear. Ask God to set His children free in South Africa and to give them wisdom regarding how the best trust in Him.
